Chanslor Ranch is operated by Chanslor Wildlife, LLC in order to provide income for environmental education, conservation, research and youth programs conducted on the property. In addition to key advisors listed below, Chanslor Wildlife has on-going programs
with numerous educational institutions; County, State and Federal environmental agencies;
and non-profit organizations such as the Native Plant Society and Audubon.
Michael H. Fawcett, Ph.D., Ecologist and Senior Advisor to Chanslor Wildlife
Michael has spent 36 years as an aquatic ecologist and has worked with Chanslor Wildlife since 1996. He received his doctorate from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1979 with his dissertation on marine inter- tidal ecology of California. The majority of his consulting experience has concen-trated on the effects of municipal and industrial discharges and development projects on fish and aquatic reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Past projects include three years of damage assessment and cleanup monitoring after the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, a stint in the port village of Yanbu for the Saudi government, and impact studies using reclaimed wastewater in Northern California. With partner Dr. Jim Roth, Dr. Fawcett is involved in long-term analysis of salmon and steelhead populations, including a 3 year research project of the Salmon Creek Estuary completed in 2006.
James C. Roth, Ph.D., Consulting Ecologist - passed away November 2009
Jim is senior biologist with CFR Consulting of Richmond, California. Jim has worked on Chanslor Wildlife research programs since 1998 and is currently involved with several studies in Sonoma County at a County, State and Federal level related to aquatic ecosystem management. His specialties are the biology and ecology of freshwater, estuarine, and marine invertebrates, aquatic entomology, zooplankton and zoobenthos ecology.
Michael A. Kennedy, Ph.D., Consulting Anthropologist
A graduate of University of California, Davis, from 1996 - 2005, Michael led graduate program excavations at Chanslor Ranch for the University, and cataloged the materials for return to Chanslor Wildlife. Chanslor Wildlife intends to use the materials for inclusion in a planned Native American Museum facility on the property. Michael is anticipated to consult for the Chanslor Wildlife both in California and in upstate New York.
A graduate of City University of New York. K-12 and college level teaching positions in New York City and Sonoma County. Experienced in structuring field study programs and educational finance, she has been invaluable in long-term planning for the Wetlands Project's educational programs.
Charlene has been a real estate broker in Sonoma County for 25 years with particular interest in agricultural property and water issues. She has also been active in helping the project acquire additional study sites both in the United States and Europe.
Tom D. Taylor, M.S,, Honorary Education Advisor
Graduate of Oklahoma State University. Taught physics and biological science at North Texas University. Organized with the University of Texas and Mobil Oil the permanent endowment of the Annual Science Fairs of Texas. Co-founder
of the Bodega Water Company in 1981 and active in Sonoma County water issues. Acquired Chanslor Ranch in 1972, the site of the Wetlands Preserve.

David E. Heiman, M.S., Water Quality Advisor, Education Advisor
As general manager for the property between 1972 and 2000 Dave was able to give direction to the use of large portions of the property for wildlife habitat and is now helping to direct the use of this preserved area for our educational programs. He has been active in Sonoma County water issues over the past 35 years and is assisting the Wetlands Project in the establishment of a demonstration program for water treatment.
Gordon B. Elsing, B.A., Real Estate Management Advisor & Education Advisor
Gordon has assisted Chanslor Wildlifre programs in Southern California and the Wisconsin since the early 1970's. His experience in property acquisition and management, and particular expertise in agricultural properties has been
of significant value. Gordon had many years of vocational training with inner city youth in Chicago and manufacturing.
Jon Daley, BA, Wildlife Programs Administrative Consultant
Jon has been with Chanslor Wildlife for 8 years and has helped develop the interpretive trail program at the Chanslor Wetlands. He provides managment consulting for Chanslor Wildlife. In that capacity he is responsible for over-seeing all wildlife programs at Chanslor Ranch. In addition to serving several years in the Air Force and in Kuwait, he has lived and studied in Spain and France at the University of Bordeaux. A graduate of UC Berkeley. Jon is fluent in Spanish and French. He recently returned from 18 months in France, Italy, Bulgaria and Senegal where he established vocational training programs for youth. He has also worked on youth programs in Sonoma County.
Robert Skolnik, M.S., Architectural Advisor
Robert taught for several years in Paris at the Ecole Superieure Des Artes et Techniques and then for ten years at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. Many Chanslor Wildlife programs will be utilizing innovative structures ranging from overnight member camping to educational centers. With Robert's extensive international experience in the field of architecture and design; his personal experience owning and preserving environmentally sensitive properties in New York and his current projects involving land restoration and the use of alternative energy sources in Marin County, he is able to make a substantial contribution to projects Chanslor Wildlife has undertaken in the United States and Europe.
Paula Poindexter, B.A., Chanslor Wildlife Membership Advisor
Paula has advised Chanslor Wildlife for the past 15 years. She is a business owner and has substantial experience in property management and public relations.
Evelyn Schaefer, B.S., Financial Advisor
A graduate of Marquette University, Evelyn has over twenty years of international experience designing and implementing business strategies for technology, telecommunications, transportation, hospitality industries and fine art businesses. Spending considerable time outside of the United States, she has garnered many resources and developed a truly global approach to her projects. An adventurous sailor and writer she also has a long history of involvement with horticultural-propagation. Evelyn resides in Marin County and in New Zealand.

Jack is a commercial photographer who specializes in nature photography,
architectural, interior, golf course, and landscape photography with a passion for coastal images. Nearly all of Jack's images are photographed using digital technology. Jack has worked with Chanslor Wildlife for 8 years and has lived with his wife Christina in Sonoma County for 13 years.
